Shareholder Sean Kilkenny Discussed Congressional And State Redistricting At League Of Women Voters Event

Sean Kilkenny, Friedman Schuman shareholder and chairperson of the Municipal Law Practice, was a panelist and a presenter at the League of Women Voters Event on September 29, 2010. Sean discussed Congressional and State redistricting process.

About 50 people attended the event where Sean explained how boundaries are defined in making up legislative districts and the redistricting proposals presented for action. Sean explained that redistricting takes place every 10 years after the census results are processed. According to Sean, Pennsylvania is unique in that it is the second most gerrymandered state, which can lend itself to rigged elections and manipulated outcomes.

Sean is recognized for his expertise in municipal, land development, real estate, municipal finance and zoning law. Sean currently serves as Solicitor for Whitemarsh Township, the Municipality of Norristown and Springfield Township. In addition to numerous private developers, Sean also represents the members of Laborers Local 135, Norristown, PA.
