Hit-and-run driver sends 14 to hospital

Most Pennsylvania residents who drive on area roads operate their vehicles safely and with respect for themselves, their passengers and those in other vehicles. However, once in a while, there comes along a person who does not given thought to the consideration of others and instead chooses to drive in a reckless or negligent manner. Even worse, these people sometimes work hard to avoid accepting their responsibility for the actions and injuries they may cause.

This is precisely what happened on what should have been a typical spring Wednesday morning in Lancaster. A school bus driver was taking one elementary, one middle school and 12 high school students to school when the actions of one other driver kicked off a chain reaction that sent everyone in that school bus plus another person to the hospital. The at-fault driver has yet to be located or identified and authorities are asking for information or tips.

While trying to pass a semi-truck, a driver clipped another vehicle and pushed it onto the other side of the road where it hit the school bus that was headed the other direction. The bus then hit the semi and the bus turned over on its side. Two of the students experienced traumatic injuries and remain in the hospital.

After an incident that leaves innocent people injured, Pennsylvania residents might want to reach out to an experienced personal injury lawyer to learn about the opportunities for compensation.
