Man injured after falling 40 feet at construction job

Pennsylvania residents who work on construction job sites know that there are many risks around them at any given time. At the same time, there are also a myriad of safety procedures that their employers are supposed to ensure are followed in order to keep workers safe. Failure to abide by these processes or ensure that equipment is in working order can leave employees at risk of injury unnecessarily.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been called in to investigate an accident that happened recently in West Deer. Part of the investigation will likely focus on identifying whether or not any safety procedures were violated or if any equipment malfunctioned in any way.

The accident happened early in the workday on a Tuesday and involved the fall from a scaffold. A man who is identified as a masonry worker fell down 40 feet. Whether or not he was wearing any harness or if others were involved in any way is not known. He survived but was taken to the hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown. No details were released about any prior safety violations or accidents on this job site or at other sites operated by the same company. The man was working on a future retirement home.

People who are injured in job-related accidents always deserve help. Talking with an attorney in Pennsylvania might give injured workers a better understanding of their options for seeking compensation.
