Building facade accident leaves two men hurt

Pennsylvania residents who work in the construction industry can be in dangerous situations at any time regardless of the type of construction work they may be involved with. From roofing to cement mixing to demolition and more, there are unique risks associated with every step of the building process. Two men who were working on a construction job site in Millvale know this all too well after they were injured in an accident together.

The two men were part of a larger group of five construction workers who together were helping with the demolition of a building facade project. They were situated on an upper level of the building at the time. Reports indicate that the building had previously been identified as being sound and while the main portion of the building did not collapse, some of the bricks on the outer facade did come off. It was these falling bricks that led to the injuries.

One man sustained fractures in multiple locations after being hit by the bricks and emergency responders found him unable to reply at first. Another man was injured on his head and bleeding from his head when help arrived. It is not clear what the Occupational Safety and Health Administration may identify as the root of the problem associated with this accident and if any safety violations may be issued in the case.

Workers who are hurt on the job, especially if safety procedures were not appropriately in place, might find it helpful to discuss compensation options with an attorney.
