FRIEDMAN SCHUMAN ATTORNEYS PARTICIPATE IN NATIONAL BUSINESS INSTITUTE SEMINAR: THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE LAW

Peter Friedman, Chair of Friedman Schuman’s Real Estate department, and Leona Mogavero, a member of the firm’s Financial Services department and Real Estate department, spoke at National Business Institute’s seminar, The Ultimate Guide to Commercial Real Estate Law, on December 10, 2015. Mr. Friedman and Ms. Mogavero engaged in a spirited discussion of the key provisions in commercial real estate leases. By playing the roles of attorney for the tenant and for the landlord, respectively, Mr. Friedman and Ms. Mogavero presented the negotiation of a commercial lease from the opposing perspectives of tenant and landlord.

Peter Friedman, a founding shareholder of Friedman Schuman, concentrates his practice in real estate law, land use and zoning, as well as corporate and business law. In over thirty-eight years of practice, he has represented a wide variety of clients, including real estate developers, landlords, national retailers, governmental departments, and religious institutions in connection with an array of real estate transactions and commercial development projects.

Leona Mogavero is a principal of the firm, and concentrates her practice in the area of creditors’ rights and bankruptcy. She has extensive experience representing financial institutions and other lenders in the negotiation and documentation of commercial loan workouts and restructures, as well as in enforcement and asset recovery. She also has experience in variety of real estate transactional matters.
